Description

This peach cobbler 3 ingredients recipe delivers a golden, bubbling southern classic with nothing more than a box of yellow cake mix, two cans of sliced peaches in light syrup, and melted butter. Ready in just one hour, it is the easiest peach cobbler recipe you will ever make, and the results taste like pure southern comfort.

Ingredients

  • One 15.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
  • Two 15.25-ounce cans sliced peaches in light syrup
  • ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar + ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep the Dish: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a rectangular baking dish (slightly smaller than 9×13, or use a standard 9×13) with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add the First Layer of Cake Mix: Sprinkle half of the dry cake mix evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. Pour the Peaches: Pour both cans of sliced peaches including all of the syrup directly over the cake mix layer. Use a spoon to stir the peaches and syrup gently into the cake mix.
  4. Add the Remaining Cake Mix: Sprinkle the remaining dry cake mix evenly over the peach layer and stir lightly again to combine.
  5. Drizzle the Butter: Pour the melted butter evenly across the entire top surface, covering as much of the dry mix as possible.
  6. Add Optional Cinnamon Sugar: If using, sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture evenly over the top.
  7. Bake Until Golden: Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the top is nicely golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  8. Serve Warm: Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream. Leftovers are equally good at room temperature.

Notes

Use canned peaches in light syrup rather than heavy syrup to avoid an overly sweet result. Pour the melted butter slowly and evenly so the topping browns uniformly. Avoid stirring during baking. A slightly smaller baking dish produces a thicker, fudgier cobbler layer than a standard 9×13.
