Description
This Mississippi Sin Dip is a creamy, baked crowd favorite made with cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, smoked beef, and green onions. Warm, rich, and comforting, it’s perfect for parties, game days, and easy family dinners. This dip can be baked in a bread bowl or a dish and prepared ahead for stress-free serving.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (16-oz) container sour cream
- 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup chopped smoked beef
- 1 green onion, chopped
- ¼ teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon alcohol-free Worcestershire-style sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 (16-oz) French bread loaf
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix the Dip: In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, smoked beef, green onion, hot sauce, Worcestershire-style sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until fully blended.
- Prepare the Bread: Cut a thin slice from the top of the bread loaf and set aside. Carefully hollow out the center, leaving about a ½-inch shell.
- Fill the Bread Bowl: Spoon the dip mixture into the hollowed bread loaf. Cover loosely with foil.
- Bake: Place the loaf on a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, until hot and bubbly.
- Serve: Serve warm with reserved bread pieces, crackers, or potato chips.
Notes
The bread bowl is optional; this dip bakes just as well in a casserole dish. You can prepare the dip ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to bake. Add green chilies or jalapeños for extra heat if desired.
