Ingredients
4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup (200g) sugar
1 cup (250ml) water (or ½ cup orange juice + ½ cup water)
1 tsp orange zest
Optional: ½ cup chopped pecans, ¼ cup raisins, pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
Instructions
1. Rinse the cranberries and discard any damaged ones.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and orange juice; bring to a boil.
3. Add cranberries and simmer until the berries burst and the sauce thickens (about 10 minutes).
4. Stir in orange zest and optional spices or nuts.
5. Cool at room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator.
