Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (½ of a standard box)
- 8 oz brie cheese
- 3 tablespoons cranberry sauce (or fig or apricot jam)
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)
- Fresh thyme or rosemary leaves for garnish
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin.
- Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to a 10×12-inch rectangle. Cut into 16 squares (about 2½ inches each) and press into muffin tin cups.
- Add Brie and Toppings: Place one piece of brie in each pastry cup. Top with ½ teaspoon cranberry sauce and a sprinkle of walnuts.
- Bake: Bake for 10–15 minutes or until the pastry is golden and cheese is melted.
- Garnish: Let cool slightly, then top with thyme or rosemary. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
• The rind on brie cheese is edible and softens while baking, but you can trim it off if preferred.
• Assemble ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.
• Try swapping cranberry sauce for fig, apricot, or raspberry jam for variety.
• Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
